ABOUT US
St. John Paul II is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School that encourages students to be knowledgeable, caring and inquiring, while trying to create a better future through an intercultural understanding of the world. SJPII is one of three schools in the TCDSB which offer the IB Diploma Programme (DP), and the only TCDSB school in Toronto's east to offer it.
The SJPII IB programme helps prepare students to put their best foot forward for their post-secondary career.
Our school's program is specifically tailored to help students prepare themselves for university and their overall education, with the IB Learner Profile in mind. Students "test the waters" in Grade 10, to see if the IB DP is fit for them. Students will then carry on in our IB Programme in Grades 11 through 12 to complete the diploma programme towards an IB diploma.
IB MISSION STATEMENT
The International Baccalaureate® aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
